Photo competition: Hidden River Gems

Submit your photos of rivers and river-related features from within the Ribble catchment, and you could be in with a chance of winning one of these fantastic prizes!

We would love to use your photos to help other people discover new places within the Ribble catchment. You can do this by showcasing them on the Interactive Catchment Explorer. This means need to know where your photos were taken! You can use the Grid Reference Finder website to find the grid reference for the feature in your photo, and include this information when submitting your photo below.

This competition is open to amateur photographers resident in the UK. You can submit as many entries as you like.

Closing date for all entries is 10th September 2017 at 23:59 pm, and the winner will be announced by 6th October 2017

All entries will be judged on originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact, artistic merit and subject matter in relation to the theme “Hidden River Gems”.

All judging decisions are final. Please do not contact us about the status of entries or judging.

Terms and Conditions
1. The Promoter of the Photography Competition is Ribble Rivers Trust, c/o Hanson Cement, West Bradford Road, Clitheroe, BB7 4QF. 2. To enter you must upload your photograph of a river related feature in the Ribble catchment and provide your full name, email address, age, and the coordinates of the location of the feature. 3. Photos should not exceed the maximum file size of 10 MB. 4. You can enter as many photos to the Competition as you like. 5. All photos submitted must be your own work andhave been taken in 2017. You are responsible for making sure that any photos you submit have been taken with the permission of the subject (if applicable) and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. 6. Any Entrants under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent of guardian to enter the competition. 7. The Competition is free to enter and is open to amateor photographers who are UK residents. Employees of Ribble Rivers Trust may submit photos, but are ineligible to win the Competition. 8. The Prizes are non-transferrable and no cash alternative is available. 9. Ribble Rivers Trust reserve the right to provide alternative Prizes should any Prize become unavailable for any reason. 10. The competition is open from 00 hours on 15nd July 2017 and closes at 23:59 GMT on 10th September 2017. Any photos submitted after this time will not be eligible to win a Prize. 11. The Prize Winner will be chosen by a panel of judges, as appointed by Ribble Rivers Trust. 12. The judges’ decision is final and correspondence will not be entered into regarding this. 13. The Prize Winners will be notified by email on or before 6th October 2017. 14. Ribble Rivers Trust reserve the right to withdraw, extend or amend the Competition at any time without notice. 15. Any incomplete, offensive or illegible entries will be considered void and will not be approved by Ribble Rivers Trust to appear on the Competition webpage, as will photos that are not relevant to the Competition. Such photos will also be ineligible to win a Prize. 16. Any photo that has been published or entered into another photographic competition must not be submitted to the Competition. 17. This is a competition for amateur photographers, therefore professional photographers are ineligible to win the Competition and any of the Prizes. 18. By entering the Competition, the Prize Winner grants permission for Ribble Rivers Trust to use their name and photo for advertising and future promotional purposes without additional compensation. 19. The Entrant will retain copyright of the photo(s) they submit to this Competition. 20. By entering the Competition, all Entrants grant permission for Ribble Rivers Trust to use their photos and associated information for purposes related to the work of the Trust, including helping others to discover and access rivers within the Ribble catchment. This includes uploading the photos to the Ribble Life social media accounts and showcasing them on any of the Ribble Rivers Trust’s websites. The author of each photo will always be acknowledged by including their name with the photo. 21. By entering this Competition you agree that your personal data can be used by Ribble Rivers Trust to contact you by email. Such contact will only relate to the Competition or the photos you have entered into it, information about the Ribble Life Together project or information about other Ribble Rivers Trust activity (if requested via the photo upload form). Your details will not be disclosed to third parties. 22. Entry into the Competition confirms that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. 23. The Competition is governed by English law and the English courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising in connection with it.
